Another step in the development of the cooperation between University of Zielona Gora (UZ) and Kenyatta University, Nairobi (KU), was a delegation from the Institute of Law Studies Univ UZ (INP UZ) to Kenyatta University School of Law. The visit was prepared in cooperation between the authorities of INP, prof. Andrzej Bisztyga (Director of INP), Prof. Marcin Mrugalski (Deputy Rector for Science and Foreign Cooperation UZ) and Ms. Kamila Rabiko (Head of International Cooperation Office). The invitation to Kenyatta University was sent by Prof. Tomasz Milej (Director of Public Law Department KU).

The delegation of prof. Martyna Laszewska-Hellriegel, LL.M. (Deputy Director for Science, Institute of Law Studies, UZ) and Dr. Piotr Kapusta (Deputy Director for Education, Institute of Law Studies, UZ) to Nairobi from 8th to 12th May 2023 served to strengthen the existing cooperation between the Institute of Law Studies, UZ, and Kenyatta University School of Law and to expand the areas of action interaction not only within the legal sciences, but also on other scientific disciplines.

Prof. M. Laszewska-Hellriegel and dr. P. Kapusta together with their partner prof. Tomasz Milej visited the Polish Embassy in Nairobi. The presented areas of activity involving not only academic exchange of students and lecturers or co-organization of scientific ventures, but also the development of joint teaching initiatives were strongly supported by the Consul of the Polish Embassy Ms. Dominika Mosek.

The delegation from the UZ held two meetings at the KU. The first one with Dr. Tom Ratemo (Deputy Executive Dean of KU School of Law) identified further spheres of cooperation, going far beyond the current formula of co-organizing scientific ventures, especially by undertaking activities aimed at double degrees. Also the possibility of obtaining doctoral and postdoctoral degrees at the University of Zielona Gora met with the interest of colleagues from the KU School of Law. The second meeting was organized at the University level. It was chaired by Dr. Mildred P. Nawiri  (Director Centre for International Programs and Collaborations) with the participation of Deans from other Departments. Particular interest for undertaking and developing cooperation with UZ researchers was expressed by Dr. Eng. Fidelis Kilonzo (Executive Dean, School of Engineering and Architecture) Prof. Samson Rosana Ondigi (Executive Dean School of Education and Lifelong Learning) and Dr. Perez Onono (Executive Dean School of Business, Economics & Tourism).

The delegation was a success, opening up many opportunities for continued cooperation and internationalization of UZ in the future.
