Absolwent Extra 2024 – May Laureates

In May, we are pleased to present two laureates: Bachelor’s graduate Dominika Łuczak and Master’s graduate Antonina Mamczur from the former Faculty of Biological Sciences (currently the Faculty of Science and Natural Sciences at the University of Zielona Góra).

DOMINIKA ŁUCZAK – a graduate of the Bachelor's program in Physical Education at the Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Zielona Góra. She is a recipient of the Rector’s Scholarship at the University of Zielona Góra. Despite following an individual study path due to her sports career, her perseverance and determination helped her achieve excellent academic results. She has been involved in competitive swimming, successfully representing the university and sports clubs at the national level. As a swimming instructor, swimming judge, and lifeguard, she combines theoretical knowledge with extensive practical experience.
Her most significant athletic achievements include medals won at the Polish Academic Championships and both the Main and Winter Polish Championships in the youth category.

Her numerous accomplishments were recognized, among others, in the Gazeta Lubuska Sports Poll, where she won:

  • 1st place in the "Sportswoman of the Year" category – Zielona Góra;
  • 2nd place in the "Sportswoman of the Year" category – Lubuskie Voivodeship.

Dominika Łuczak passionately promotes physical activity and a healthy lifestyle among children and youth, believing that sport is not only a means of development but also a source of valuable experiences and relationships. She plans to pursue a professional career in the field of biological regeneration, treating it as an integral part of both training and rehabilitation processes.
Privately, she is a fan of crime novels, good music, and travelling. She enjoys spending her free time with loved ones, and her favorite vacation destination is the Hel Peninsula.

ANTONINA MAMCZUR – a graduate of the second-cycle (Master's) program in Biotechnology, specializing in Microbioanalytics in Biotechnology. She graduated with distinction, earning top marks. In her master’s thesis titled "Phenotypic and Molecular Analysis of Virulence Factors of Escherichia coli Isolated from Animals", she discussed the growing role of wild animals as reservoirs of zoonotic diseases. During her studies, she was actively involved in the activities of the Biology Students’ Scientific Association and the Biotechnology Students’ Scientific Association, participating in research projects such as: “Carriage of Staphylococcus aureus Among Domestic Animals” and “Determining the Physiological Effects of the L1340P Mutation in the ANK1 Gene Encoding Erythrocytic Ankyrin.” She also took part in numerous educational trips and conferences.

To further her professional skills, she completed an individual internship at the Ludwik Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences and participated in online training courses offered by Merck for chemical and biological laboratory staff. She is the co-author of a scientific publication titled “Characteristics of Enterobacteriales Producing Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamases Isolated from Pork,” published in Postępy Biochemii (Vol. 69(2), pp. 81–88, 2023). She is currently continuing her academic career as a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of Science and Technology at the University of Zielona Góra, in the discipline of biological sciences.
