In February, we are pleased to present two laureates of the "Absolwent Extra 2024" competition from the Faculty of Legal and Economic Sciences at the University of Zielona Góra.
Hanna Wojtasińska is a graduate of law from the integrated master's program. In September 2024, she successfully defended her master's thesis titled "Patient Consent for Medical Procedures and Physician Liability" with a very good grade. Her interest in medical law began when she joined the Medical Law Scientific Club in her second year of studies. During the pandemic, she played an active role in organizing an informational campaign on current and complex legal regulations emerging at that time. She explored "The Impact of the Epidemic Situation on the Liability of Medical Services" as part of the Legal and Medical Seminar. Her involvement in student organizations, including the Civil Law Scientific Circle, helped her to develop teamwork skills, which she later applied as secretary and editorial committee member of the faculty journal "Student Legal and Administrative Forum." From her second year of studies onward, she gained professional experience working at a legal advisor’s office, where she deepened her knowledge of local government law, public procurement law, civil law, and family law. She continues her education as a trainee legal advisor at the Regional Chamber of Legal Advisors. In the future, she plans to pursue a PhD in medical law.

Dominik Gala is a graduate of logistics from the first-cycle engineering program. Already in his second year, he took on the role of university leader for the Helpers' Generation project, organized by the DKMS Foundation. As a bone marrow donor who helped an unrelated patient thanks to a match of hematopoietic stem cells, he became a credible advocate for the program's real-world impact. In his third year, representing the LogUZ Scientific Club, he chaired the international mSVOK conference and the Logistics Days in Zielona Góra, where he organized and moderated the Entrepreneurs' Debate—a unique initiative connecting business professionals with young logistics enthusiasts. Academically, he made a name for himself as a co-author of the publication "Optimization of Warehouse Management Using the Pallet Shuttle System," featured in the monograph "Contemporary Trends in Logistics." His next publication, stemming from an international conference and focusing on transport management and TMS systems, is currently in press in the prestigious journal Acta Logistica. He began and continues his professional career in a transport company.
