On Thursday, 15 May, the Aeroclub of the Lubuskie Region in Zielona Góra–Przylep became a hub of innovation, where education, business, and modern technology came together during the first-ever drone trade fair in our region — Air Drone Expo Lubuskie 2025.
The event featured dozens of exhibitors, a conference zone, and a series of expert talks on the design, functionality, and applications of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Visitors also had the opportunity to witness live drone flight demonstrations. The goal? To build a broad network of stakeholders involved in the development and use of drone technology.
The expo also served as an excellent opportunity to promote university degree programmes related to UAV applications. The University of Zielona Góra currently offers courses in Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, and Occupational Health and Safety.
"We want high school graduates to choose technical programmes at our university," said Professor Wojciech Strzyżewski, Rector of the University of Zielona Góra. "As an institution, we are focused not only on scientific and economic development, but also on educating future specialists in this dynamic sector. The range of exhibitors — including uniformed services, technical inspection bodies, and academic institutions — clearly shows the growing importance of these technologies in everyday life."
Air Drone Expo Lubuskie 2025 was primarily addressed to secondary school students, university students, academics, and representatives of companies working in the design and application of UAVs.
"The drone industry is a modern, forward-looking sector," emphasized Marcin Pabierowski, Mayor of Zielona Góra. "This event perfectly aligns with our city’s development strategy. We want Zielona Góra to be a centre of innovation. We also believe that today’s fair will contribute to the growth of the Zielona Góra Business Integrator. Strengthening our scientific and economic potential is essential."
According to the organizers, ADEL 2025 is also a strong example of effective cooperation between the university, local government, and state institutions — in this case, the Voivodeship Labour Office in Zielona Góra.
"This is a clear sign that our cooperation is effective and that we share common goals — particularly retaining young people in the region, first through higher education and then through attractive, well-paying jobs," said Anna Urbaniak, acting director of the Voivodeship Labour Office in Zielona Góra. "Drones are no longer limited to recreational or filming purposes. Today, they are essential in safety operations, agriculture, surveying, environmental protection, and even defence. Research is also underway into their use in logistics and transport. This is the future."
Air Drone Expo Lubuskie 2025 was jointly organized by the Voivodeship Labour Office in Zielona Góra and the University of Zielona Góra.
