Gold Medals for the Academic Motorsports Association of the University of Zielona Góra

More Awards for the Academic Motorsports Association of the University of Zielona Góra. Innovations developed by the team from the Academic Motorsports Association (AZM) of the University of Zielona Góra have once again been recognized. Between June 10–12, during the E-NNOVATE 2025 International Innovation and Invention Summit held in Kraków, the team was awarded an impressive four medals.

Representing the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, the AZM team—Project Lead M.Sc. Eng. Zdzisława Wałęga and students Amadeusz Korona, Łukasz Owczarz, and Igor Wachowiak—presented cutting-edge technological solutions that caught the attention of the international jury. Both inventions were developed under the project "Klakson – An Impulse for Innovation."

The first gold medal was awarded for the Universal Rehabilitative Orthosis—an innovative device that supports limb rehabilitation. Its modular design and the use of smart materials earned high marks for its applicability in both clinical and home-based treatment settings.

The second gold medal went to the Innovative Hydrogen System—a solution for hydrogen-based energy production and management. The invention was distinguished for its energy purity, system compatibility, and integration potential with both the industrial and transportation sectors.

“These gold medals are proof that passion for science and teamwork can lead to world-class solutions. It’s also a great motivation to further develop projects with real societal and technological needs in mind,” said M.Sc. Eng. Zdzisława Wałęga.

In addition to the gold medals, the AZM team received the E-NNOVATE 2025 Special Award, granted by the event organizers for outstanding achievements that go beyond the standard competition categories. This honor recognizes innovations with exceptional potential.

M.Sc. Eng. Zdzisława Wałęga was also honored with the prestigious “LausIngenii Causa” award (Latin for “In Honor of the Creative Spirit”), presented by Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu (Romania). This award recognizes engineering projects of outstanding merit showcased at E-NNOVATE 2025.

The summit was also an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences with teams from around the world and to promote the scientific and research potential of the University of Zielona Góra.
