June 2024: Meet the Two Winners of the Graduate Extra 2024 Award from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Zielona Góra – Maja Massier (BA) and Bartłomiej Zadworny (MA).
Maja Massier, a graduate of the full-time BA program in Cultural Animation and Creative Online Activity, is now pursuing her MA in Social Design. A passionate event organizer and social activist, she thrives at the intersection of art, academia, and community engagement. Her creative energy fuels artistic projects spanning poetry (writing for musical bands), music, and stage performances. She specializes in designing, coordinating, and promoting artistic and social initiatives.
As the founder and chair of two student research clubs—Anim@cja and the Academic Student Culture Club—she created platforms for creative projects and academic integration. Skilled at multitasking, she balances artistic pursuits with scholarly work, evidenced by her participation in research projects, conferences, and student organizations.
During her tenure in the Student Parliament, she served as: Chair of the Committee for Culture and Sports, Member of the Committee for Student Research Clubs and Organizations, Member of the External Relations Committee.
Her event portfolio includes Bachanalia 2023, UZ Initiation Week 2023, Speed Friending 2023, Outdoor Cinema 2023, Board Game Nights, and Academic Competitions 2023, alongside promotional campaigns. Cultural institutions praise her workshops and performances for their professionalism, originality, and ability to engage audiences.
Her research focuses on creativity, the impact of art on local communities, social integration through culture, and new media in cultural promotion.

Bartłomiej Zadworny is a graduate of the full-time MA program in Political Science, which he completed with honors (summa cum laude). He currently conducts research as a doctoral candidate at the Doctoral School of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zielona Góra. His academic focus spans geopolitics, international security, and strategic communication.
His MA thesis, “Strategic and Political Conditions for the Use of Nuclear Weapons in Armed Conflict”, sheds light on the intricate strategic maneuvering among nuclear powers—particularly in the context of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War (since 2022).
For years, Bartłomiej has been an active participant in academic and expert circles, achieving national and international recognition:
He further hones his analytical skills through practical engagements, such as the Bursztynowy Pierścień (Amber Ring) wargames, where he secured 3rd (2023) and 1st place (2024). His conference participation includes the Congress of Polish Geopoliticians, Three Seas One Opportunity, and the National Praxeology in Security Sciences Conference.
Publications: An essay accepted for publication in SCIENTIA journal, an article, “Is Moscow Reviving Cold War Rhetoric in Strategic Communication?”, slated for print in 2025.
