On 27–28 October, one of the most anticipated conferences in Poland – the DeepTech Summit – took place in Warsaw, hosted in the modern space of the Norblin Factory. The event brought together leading scientists, startups, investors, and representatives of Europe’s innovative technology ecosystem, creating a platform for exchanging knowledge, experience, and the latest trends in deep technology (deeptech).
Among the participants were representatives of the University of Zielona Góra – teams supported under the UZ Venture Studio project, which plays a significant role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. Researchers from the UZ Centre for Scientific Excellence, the UZ Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer, and the UZ Institute of Materials and Biomedical Engineering also actively took part in the event.
Startup Presentations and Pitches Showcasing Innovative Solutions
Teams from UZ Venture Studio – MobiMedi, Alpha Scorpi, and Buzz Verse – presented their innovative projects during the pitching sessions, drawing the attention of both investors and experts from the tech industry.
The Buzz Verse team showcased a modular IoT platform designed for remote environmental monitoring and smart city applications, contributing to environmental protection and urban sustainability. The second team, Alpha Scorpi, unveiled an innovative polarimetric sensor that enhances safety in outer space, opening new possibilities in measurement technologies and space security. The third team, MobiMedi, presented a platform facilitating access to job opportunities and shift replacements for medical personnel, offering essential support to the healthcare system, especially during periods of high demand.
During the open Venture Studio exhibition area, two additional teams from the UZ Institute of Materials and Biomedical Engineering, represented by Dr Katarzyna Arkusz and Dr Tomasz Klekiel, also presented their research and technological solutions.
Workshops and Networking at The Heart Headquarters
During the event, young entrepreneurs and researchers took part in workshops hosted at the headquarters of The Heart, a company specialising in venture building. This intensive training complemented the conference experience, enabling participants to exchange insights and establish valuable business connections.
Summary and Development Prospects
Participation in the DeepTech Summit 2025 was an important milestone for the UZ Venture Studio teams, further confirming the growing potential of researchers and startups connected with the University of Zielona Góra. The event demonstrated that the Lubuskie region has a real chance to become a significant hub for innovation and advanced technologies in Poland. “Both the presentations and the new contacts open up fresh development opportunities for the projects, as well as possibilities for securing funding and strategic partnerships,” summarised Dr Rafał Kieszek, Project Manager of UZ Venture Studio.
Participation in such prestigious events not only promotes the achievements of UZ but also highlights that the Lubuskie region and its researchers are increasingly and effectively positioning themselves on the national and European map of technological innovation.
