The results of the first admission round for full-time first-cycle and long-cycle Master’s degree programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year are now available. This year, we recorded exceptionally high interest among candidates applying to study at the University. Which programmes attracted the greatest interest?
The increase in the number of university applicants is a result of the accumulation of age cohorts following the previous education reform that lowered the school starting age to six. This means that this year there is a double cohort of secondary school graduates and, consequently, a larger number of university applicants. Around 70 degree programmes were included in the offer for the upcoming academic year, attracting almost 10,500 candidates in the first admission round. At present, 2,200 candidates have been admitted to study at the University of Zielona Góra.
The Medical Programme attracted the greatest interest, with 40 candidates per place. A separate admission process is conducted for this programme and will continue until the end of September. The other programmes offered by Collegium Medicum UZ also attracted considerable interest. These included Nursing, with 9 candidates per place, and Physiotherapy, with 12 candidates per place. Admission limits were also reached for Emergency Medical Services, Midwifery, Graphic Design, and Journalism and New Media.
A second admission round will be conducted for 90% of the programmes. It will begin on 5 August and continue until 14 September 2026. This also provides an opportunity for candidates who took a resit examination. The results of the resit examinations will be announced on 11 September 2026.
