Saturday Marked by Graduation Ceremonies. More Students Bid Farewell to the University of Zielona Góra

Another graduation ceremonies are behind us. This time, students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences symbolically said goodbye to the University of Zielona Góra. Among the graduates were students of resocialization, preschool and early childhood education, biology, biotechnology, mathematics, as well as computer science and econometrics.

The first to toss their caps into the air were students of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Over 60 individuals—both full-time and part-time students—chose to participate in the formal farewell to the university. "We are here to celebrate these past few years of study. The emotions we’re feeling are hard to describe—it’s an inner storm. We're definitely filled with excitement, pride, and nostalgia. Today is the last time we’re all together within the walls of UZ," said Ewelina Mackiewicz, a graduate of preschool and early childhood education.

Graduation ceremonies are also a time of reflection for the academic staff.
"For us, this is also a very important event. We are glad that students want to say goodbye in such a ceremonial way. We welcomed them here, and they trusted us. They came to the university as young people and gave us a piece of their lives. They arrived with certain expectations, and today we ask ourselves—did we meet them? Did we not let our students down, and did we prepare them well for professional life?" commented Dr. hab. Barbara Literska, UZ Professor and Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Education.

Also on Saturday, representatives of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences gathered for their graduation ceremony. Among the more than 30 attendees were students of biology, biotechnology, mathematics, and computer science with econometrics. "We’re happy to be here. Some of us are finishing our education, while others will return in October for second-cycle (Master’s) studies. We certainly feel joy and pride in earning our Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. At the same time, we feel relief and are glad everything went well, and now we can celebrate the end of our studies. Most of us consider the time spent at the university very worthwhile. I believe some of us have formed lifelong friendships here. We spent a lot of time at UZ and really bonded with one another," said Marzena Chorab, a mathematics graduate.

It’s worth noting that this was the first graduation ceremony held at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences at UZ.
