The TOP 2% Scientists 2024 ranking is based on a detailed analysis of academic achievements. The evaluation takes into account indicators such as the number of citations, the Hirsch index (h-index), journal impact factors, and the author’s contribution to publications. The list is divided into two categories – career-long impact and scientific achievements from the last year.
The career-long category assesses a researcher’s cumulative scientific output over their entire academic career. It includes publications and citations collected over an extended period – in some cases dating back to 1960 – and reflects the lasting influence of scholars on the development of their respective disciplines.
The second category has a more dynamic character, focusing on achievements from the most recent calendar year. It analyses the latest publications and citations, providing insight into the current research activity and contemporary relevance of the scientists’ work within the global academic community.
