University of Zielona Góra at the "International Students in Poland 2025" Conference

Representatives of the University of Zielona Góra – Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Justyna Patalas-Maliszewska, Dr. Paweł Truszkiewicz, Agnieszka Łaszczowska and Agata Szuba – participated in the prestigious "International Students in Poland 2025" conference. The event, organized by KRASP, the Perspektywy Educational Foundation, and the University of Gdańsk, brought together approximately 300 experts, including rectors, vice-rectors, and specialists in international cooperation.
Since the launch of the Study in Poland program in 2005, the number of international students in Poland has increased from 8,829 to 107,000 in the 2023/24 academic year. This is the result of 20 years of intensive efforts and development. The joint efforts of academic and governmental institutions are crucial for continued progress. Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska, Chair of KRASP and Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University, emphasized the long-standing tradition of multiculturalism in higher education, dating back to the Renaissance:
"Studying has always been a journey in search of knowledge."
She outlined a vision for Polish universities, adding:
"Our dream is for international students to make up twenty percent of all students at our universities."
This year’s edition of the conference focused on the internationalization of science – a key aspect of academic development in Poland. International cooperation and the exchange of experiences form the foundation of modern higher education. As summarized by Dr. Bianka Siwińska, President of the Perspektywy Educational Foundation:
"The Study in Poland program is the best embodiment of what is currently being discussed globally – that solving global challenges requires collaboration. For eighteen years, by gathering at this annual conference, we have been strengthening cooperation to further internationalize Polish universities, integrating, discussing, and ultimately finding solutions to the most pressing challenges."
She concluded by wishing participants a successful and fruitful conference.
During the official gala on January 30, prestigious awards were presented:
"INTERSTUDENT 2025" – for the best international student in Poland
"Stars of Internationalization 2025" – for individuals distinguished in the internationalization of Polish education
The University of Zielona Góra proudly participates in initiatives supporting the global development of Polish education!
