University of Zielona Góra Participates in the “Foreign Students in Poland 2026” Conference

Representatives of the University of Zielona Góra took part in the conference “Foreign Students in Poland 2026,” held on 28–30 January this year at the Auditorium Maximum of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. The event brought together university authorities, representatives of public institutions, and experts involved in the internationalization of higher education. The conference is regarded as one of the most important forums for debate in this field in Poland.

This year’s edition was held under the theme “Internationalization in the Face of New Challenges” and focused on the transition from a quantitative to a qualitative stage of internationalization. During plenary sessions and panel discussions, participants addressed issues such as new visa regulations for international students, their impact on recruitment processes, and the consequences of the changing geopolitical landscape for academic mobility and international cooperation.

An important part of the program also included discussions on the strategic directions of international cooperation for Polish universities, with particular emphasis on countries such as Turkey, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan. Rectors of Polish universities, representatives of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), and ambassadors of partner countries participated in sessions devoted to these regions, discussing the outcomes of existing cooperation and prospects for its further development.

The conference was organized as part of the “Study in Poland” program, jointly implemented by the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, the Jagiellonian University, and the “Perspektywy” Education Foundation, under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Science and Higher Education. The program featured plenary sessions, thematic panels, and specialized workshops dedicated to current trends and challenges in the internationalization of education and research.

The participation of the University of Zielona Góra in the conference confirms the institution’s commitment to advancing internationalization as one of the key elements of its academic and research development strategy. The event provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, establish new contacts, and deepen knowledge of current directions in international higher education policy.
