UZ and CPTT Students at the International Decarbon Days 2025 Conference in Cottbus

From June 26–28, 2025, representatives of the Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CPTT) at the University of Zielona Góra (UZ) participated in Decarbon Days 2025—an international conference dedicated to industrial decarbonization and energy transformation. The event, held in Cottbus (Germany), brought together members of the European Commission, government representatives, research institutions, startups, businesses, and young innovators.

The conference program spanned three intensive days:

Day 1: "EU-SUMMIT" – a summit featuring representatives of the European Commission, the German government, and local authorities, focused on the region's role as a model for sustainable energy transformation.

Day 2: "TECH-FESTIVAL" – a showcase of modern solutions in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, drones, virtual reality, and more. The day included numerous panel discussions and networking opportunities with innovative startups and industry experts.

Day 3: "TALENT-DAY" – an event for talented students, including workshops, meetings with companies, and the final of the Climathon 2025, an international competition for the best green technology project.

The Climathon 2025 final was co-organized by CPTT UZ staff members Dr. Eng. Kamil Leksycki and Małgorzata Motykiewicz.

Also participating in Decarbon Days 2025 was Dr. habil. Eng. Sławomir Kłos, UZ Professor, Rector’s Plenipotentiary for Cooperation with Industry and Research Quality. He represented the university during a panel discussion on the internationalization of the labor market.

Notably, UZ representatives Dr. hab. Eng. Sławomir Kłos, Prof. UZ, and Dr. Eng. Kamil Leksycki served on the Climathon 2025 jury, evaluating projects based on innovation, feasibility, and environmental impact.

Students from the University of Zielona Góra took part in the Climathon 2025 final, forming the following teams:

  • "Eko Flow" – a team of aviation engineering students: Helena Kozłowska, Michał Sąsiadek, Karolina Lewandowska, Bartosz Kuna, Wiktor Maćkowski; team supervisor: Eng. Marcin Chciuk;
  • "Green Wings" – another aviation engineering team: Michał Małecki, Kornel Czarnota, Martyna Bielat, Martyna Kisiel, Pola Rzepecka; team supervisor: Eng. Marcin Chciuk;
