The University of Zielona Góra is strengthening its partnership with the Eugeniusz Horbaczewski Secondary School No. IV (“Lotnik”) in Zielona Góra. A cooperation agreement was signed on Monday, 8 September this year. The main goals of the agreement include promoting science, educating young people, and supporting their development across all areas of science and the arts in which our University is active.
The partnership will be implemented through three projects: SCIENCE LAB_a, SCIENCE LAB_b, and the educational program mUZg – Youth University of Zielona Góra.
“Today’s agreement is another step towards inviting high school students into the University. We will showcase our potential and teaching opportunities. The students will enter our laboratories and classrooms, where classes will be conducted by academic teachers from the Institute of Astronomy and the Institute of Biological Sciences. Such cooperation bodes well for the future and also serves to promote UZ. We are showing that it is worth gaining knowledge with us now and in the years to come,” explained Dr. habil. Barbara Literska, Professor at UZ, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Education.
This is not the first agreement between UZ and “Lotnik.” In 2019, the school launched medical profile classes, which were carried out in collaboration with our University.
“I am very proud that today we are opening close cooperation with the University of Zielona Góra in three areas. This means expanding the educational opportunities of our school. At the same time, we are showing our students the high academic level at which they will be able to spread their wings in the future, once they graduate from our school,” said Agnieszka Makarska, Principal of Secondary School No. IV.
The joint projects between the University of Zielona Góra and the Eugeniusz Horbaczewski Secondary School No. IV in Zielona Góra will be carried out from 1 September this year until the end of June 2027.
