Seven student dormitories and 1,100 beds – this is the housing capacity prepared by the University of Zielona Góra for the 2025/2026 academic year. Currently available to students are the following dormitories: Piast, Rzepicha, Ziemowit, SBM, Wcześniak, and the dormitory in Sulechów, which is opened conditionally depending on demand. The application process for accommodation is now underway.
Students will be housed in double rooms, with single rooms available in exceptional cases. The cost of a double room ranges from PLN 434 to 500 per month, plus utilities. Single rooms (“jedynki”) will cost between PLN 545 and 646 per month, plus utilities. The price depends on the room size, while monthly utility fees are calculated based on actual consumption (according to meter readings) or on a flat-rate basis. Before moving in, each resident is required to pay a refundable deposit of PLN 700.
As every year, accommodation in the dormitories is available to students and doctoral candidates admitted to doctoral schools at the University of Zielona Góra. However, certain conditions must be met in order to be granted a place in a Student Dormitory. Detailed eligibility criteria can be found in the Regulations for the Allocation of Dormitory Places at the University of Zielona Góra. The most important criterion is the distance from the student’s permanent place of residence. Priority is given to students for whom daily commuting to the university would be impossible or significantly hinder their ability to study. For students in higher years, their financial situation is also taken into account.
At the same time, renovation works are ongoing at the Vicewersal dormitory. The current stage includes interior finishing and the procurement of furnishings. In addition to residential areas, the building will feature a quiet study room, laundry facilities, drying rooms, utility and maintenance areas, as well as common areas. Residents will also have access to a gym. The entire first floor of the two-storey building will be designated for the Gęba student club. The first students are expected to move into the Vicewersal dormitory in the summer semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.
