On 13–15 October this year, the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Rzeszów University of Technology hosted a meeting of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities (KRPUT). The event brought together rectors and representatives of technical universities from across the country, as well as representatives of scientific institutions, public administration, and industry. The University of Zielona Góra was represented by Prof. Justyna Patalas-Maliszewska, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation.
The conference served as an important forum for exchanging experiences and discussing the future of technical higher education in Poland. On the first day, participants addressed key issues related to the functioning and development of Polish technical universities. The rectors discussed, among other topics, the evaluation of scientific disciplines, funding for research, and cooperation with the National Centre for Research and Development.
The second day of the conference was dedicated to the cooperation between technical universities and the economic sector. Presentations included initiatives aimed at developing engineering competencies, FERS programmes, rankings of student-friendly universities, and industrial PhD programmes. On the third day, conference participants visited the Academic Gliding Centre of the Rzeszów University of Technology in Bezmiechowa Górna, where they learned about the centre’s activities and its potential for supporting education and research.
