woj_lubuskie_-_ikony_5.pngThe Lubuskie province is located in western Poland. What does it in fact mean? The proximity of the Polish-German border facilitates the cooperation with European markets. The location at the intersection of important communication routes, in turn, guarantees an excellent transport connection with other regions of Poland.

woj_lubuskie_-_ikony_2.pngMoreover, the Lubuskie province is one of the naturally richest regions in our country. The fact that forest constitute almost half of our province’s area proves that. Among those forest, two national parks are situated - „Ujście Warty” National Park (Warta Mouth) and Drawa National Park, a few landscape parks and over 60 nature reserves. What is interesting, Muskau Park, partly located in the Lubuskie province, has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Muskau Arc Geopark, in turn, has been included in the Global Geoparks Network as the first Polish geopark.

One of them is located in Zabór (circa 17 km from Zielona Góra), just next to the Lubuskie Winemaking Centre, which makes its visitors acquainted with the history and present of the local winemaking, as well as supports the revival of these traditions.

woj_lubuskie_-_ikony_6.pngApart from winemakers, many other food producers are operating in our region. They make, among others, delicious cheeses, meats, breadstuffs, honey and juice.

ikony.pngThe Lubuskie province is also called the Land of 500 Lakes – that’s true, there are actually more than 500 lakes! Additionally, many rivers, as for example the Oder River and the Warta River, flow through our province. Not only do such natural resources form amazing views, but they also allow of doing water sports, including canoeing, sailing and cruising by a Polish Galar boat or a pleasure boat.

woj_lubuskie_-_ikony_1.pngThe Lubuskie province also means a rich history and beautiful, a little bit mysterious places, such as many palaces, castles and manor houses. For certain it is worth taking a trip along their trail and going back in time. You can find other interesting monuments on the Route of the Kozioł Region Wooden Churches (the name derived from kozioł – a kind of Polish bagpipe) – it is an ideal proposition particularly for fans of folk architecture. One of the Lubuskie province must-sees is also the Miedzyrzecz Fortified Area, i.e. a 10-km fortification system built by Germans before and during World War II in the bend of the Oder and the Warta River.

These examples are only a few of many attractions and advantages of our region. Choose Zielona Góra as the city of your future and discover the charms and prospects of the whole Lubuskie province!
