Zielona Góra has a very well-developed sports infrastructure that allows of doing many sports disciplines, both individual and team ones. The following elements create our city’s sports base: public facilities (e.g. gyms, fields, pools and courts) as well as halls where professional competitions and games take place. In addition, numerous parks and forests enable people to spend time actively in the open air. Cycle paths and Nordic walking trails
Zielona Góra offers many ways of spending leisure time in the open air. You can go for a relaxing walk to the near forests and parks located both in the city centre and on the outskirts. It is also worth riding a bike through the network of bicycle paths and strolling along the Nordic walking trails.
By bike: The bicycle paths cross the whole city and its vicinity. Use them in terms of both transport and recreation. Traverse Zielona Góra by bike and discover its corners. If you do not have your own bike, you can hire one from a Zielona Góra City Bike rental. Fans of fast riding can also find a place for themselves, for instance, the 4 Elements Single Track.
On foot: If you like trekking trips, you should definitely visit the Piast Hills also known as the Nordic walking land of Zielona Góra. A couple of well-signposted trails located there will lead you across a wooded and hilly area. On the way, you will go by some interesting points and places, among others, a stream called Pustelnik (the Hermit) and its spring, Bismarck’s brick tower and the highest point of Zielona Góra. Additionally, it is worth seeing the Oder Riverine Forest situated at the other end of the city. Here you can walk by picturesque old river beds of the Oder, among the lush scenery.
