College of Physical Education and Sport

The College of Physical Education and Sport organises lessons of physical education. Students can pick from a couple of sports disciplines, such as: swimming, aqua-aerobics, running activities, fitness, basketball, volleyball, football, bodybuilding, Nordic walking, boccia, rehabilitation, general development activities, core & stretch, as well as healthy spine. The college also lets students accomplish a physical education class in an alternative way – by participation in canoeing or trekking trips.

University of Zielona Góra’s Academic Sports Club

The University of Zielona Góra’s Academic Sports Club (AZS) is the biggest sports club in the Lubuskie province. Hundreds of the university’s students and employees belong to the club and do various sports and activities. Currently, the club offers 14 sports sections: men's basketball, old-boy futsal, jujitsu, men's handball, women's volleyball, swimming and water life-saving, floorball, table tennis, climbing, capoeira, traditional karate, duplicate bridge, boccia (for disabled people) and swimming (for disabled people). Students can also participate in sports and recreational extracurricular activities which include a gym and a functional training. We owe such a wide choice of disciplines to the university’s sports facilities which consists of tennis courts, gyms, fields and sports halls.

Our Academic Sports Club can pride itself on its medallists in the championships of Poland, Europe and the world, as well as the members who have become Olympians and Paralympians.

AZS has also its representatives in team sports. These are: the handball players, bridge players, volleyball players, futsal players and table tennis players.

Furthermore, the club originates and organises many interesting projects for students and employees, as well as Zielona Góra’s residents. For instance, the club has invited to the following events: the Active Resident of Zielona Góra, Change Yourself Actively, the Cooper Test for Everyone, the Integrating Polish Championships of Boccia and Shooting Sports. In 2022, within the celebration of the 800th anniversary of Zielona Góra’s foundation, AZS organised a series of bike trips around Zielona Góra and its vicinity. The idea met with people’s interest. The goal of the trips was to ride 800 km and it was fulfilled!
