The College of Physical Education and Sport organises lessons of physical education. Students can pick from a couple of sports disciplines, such as: swimming, aqua-aerobics, running activities, fitness, basketball, volleyball, football, bodybuilding, Nordic walking, boccia, rehabilitation, general development activities, core & stretch, as well as healthy spine. The college also lets students accomplish a physical education class in an alternative way – by participation in canoeing or trekking trips.
University of Zielona Góra Academic Sports Club
The University of Zielona Góra Academic Sports Club (AZS UZ) is the biggest sports club in the Lubuskie province. Over 1000 active people - UZ's students and employees as well as people unrelated to the university (also disabled ones), belong to the club. Due to the club's rich offer, everyone can join it, regardless of their age, gender and physical prowess. You can get a membership card once an academic year.
Currently, the club holds regular activities and trainings in 26 sports sections: aikido/iaido/jodo/kendo, all-inclusive (participation in chosen 2 or 3 sections), aquafitness, bocce (for people with disabilities), duplicate bridge, capoeira, e-sports, fitness, women's futsal, men's futsal, ju-jitsu, karate, men's basketball, pickleball, women's handball, men's handball, women's volleyball, men's volleyball, swimming (for people with disabilities), swimming and water rescue, a gym, preschool sports, chess, dance, table tennis and floorball.
AZS UZ provides a well-equipped, over 200-square-metre gym at a bargain price. The gym is open from Tuesday to Sunday.
Our Academic Sports Club can pride itself on its medallists in the championships of Poland, Europe and the world, as well as the members who have become Olympians and Paralympians.
Morover, AZS has its representatives in team sports leagues, such as handball, volleyball, futsal and table tennis.
Furthermore, the club organises many interesting events for students and employees, as well as residents of Zielona Góra.
