Polish language course

pl_flaga.png The University of Zielona Góra organises a Polish language course for foreigners.



uz_-_kursy_jezykowe.pngThanks to our lessons, you will acquire knowledge allowing to pass an exam and obtain a certificate.

The course takes place in the Institute of Polish Philology at the University of Zielona Góra and is conducted in the following levels:
- elementary level (A1 or A1 – continuation, A2 or A2 – continuation),
- advanced level (B1, B2),
- specialised level (C1, C2).

Foreigners can attend both free and paid courses.

The free course of the Polish language is directed to all Erasmus+ students. These classes begin and finish in compliance with the schedule of a given academic year. The course allows a student to learn basic phrases of the speech and the written language useful in everyday communication, according to the programmes of teaching foreign languages. The course also includes basic information about the Polish culture.

Paid courses of the Polish language are organised when a group of foreign students wishes to take part in such lessons. The programme of the course is always fixed in consultation with students and teachers. After completing the course, one can get a certificate conferred by the university. Students can also be taught to take a state exam of Polish as a foreign language.

Since 2022 the University of Zielona Góra has had the right to conduct the state exam of Polish as a foreign language. The exams take place in accordance with the statutes and the schedule determined by the State Committee for Certifying the Knowledge of Polish as a Foreign Language. The participation in the paid course does not guarantee students an opportunity to take the exam. One can register for the exam online within the period fixed with the State Committee for Certifying the Knowledge of Polish as a Foreign Language and announced on the website: www.certyfikatpolski.uz.zgora.pl in the section Rejestracja (Registration).

All the courses in question are taught in Polish. The classes take place in UZ’s practice halls, most frequently on the Campus B. One of these places is a phonetic laboratory equipped with specialist devices that let students to practise their articulation in a modern and effective way. What is more, the teachers have knowledge and qualifications as well as experience in teaching Polish as a foreign language. In the Polish Language Studio for Foreigners, our employees prepare educational materials and projects, as well as carry out research.

How to pass the course? The course can be completed with a pass with a mark. You have to fulfil the following requirements: presence during lessons, active participation and passing of a final test (4 ECTS points). The second option is to take the exam (6 ECTS points) before which you need to perform the following conditions: presence during lessons, active participation and passing of a final test and an oral exam.
